In the harbour city of Fethiye, looking out over the Aegean Sea, my friend Daniel and I went out onto the docks at night with my tripod and shot a series of nighttime photographs with the incredibly still, calm waters as the muse. Here’s photo one of the series. Enjoy!

In our own balloon high above Uchisar, Cappadocia, we were able to see another balloon sweep low over the town, creating a striking image I’ll never forget. It just so happened to be another balloon with our same tour group.

Visit Turkey – Stormclouds over Pamukkale, Turkey – Photo a Day – Travel Photography (Travel Photos)

Pamukkale is one of the most alien, out of this world highlights of Turkey. Those white cliffs are the result of erosion of calcium carbonate, creating interesting travertine pools with hot spring waters.

The Romans obviously had the right idea when they built the thriving city of Hieropolis on the cliff edge. Though many of the tourist photos of the travertine pools feature stunning blue skies and gorgeous ladies in the pools, we, had torrential rain which made for a hilariously wet adventure down.

Boasting incredible history, Turkey has to be one of the most incredible places I have ever seen. Though history spans far back through the centuries, a solemn, yet beautiful coast line situated on the Dardanelles has a wartorn past.

In 1915, thousands landed on the beaches at Gallipoli for the ANZAC WWI campaign. Today, Australians, New Zealanders and Turks alike come as pilgrims to this sight to remember one of the bloodiest battles of the last century. We must never forget.

On the Gizehma, the name of our vessel upon the Aegean Sea, our tour group set out to cruise the turquoise coast. Not only were we able to swim in the sea, but also stop on each of the islands and learn about the ancient people who inhabited the coastlines.

In the city of Antalya, his gate is just as much of an icon today as it was thousands of years ago. Under its sweeping arches, a couple gets their wedding photos taken on a rather overcast day.
