Visit United Kingdom and enjoy some of the best places to go in the United Kingdom. Enjoy my world travel photography and fall in love with Great Britain tourism. Visit the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford, England in my traveling guide. The theatre was built in the 17th century by Sir Thomas Wren.
The building is used for music concerts, lectures as well as university ceremonies. It is one of the most beautiful buildings in Oxford and is well known for its stone heads.

Just as the history of the Bodleian Library dates back to the 15th century, the oldest portion of the library is known as Duke Humphrey’s Library. Into the 17th century, the Humphrey Library went through a period of steady decline and soon only three of the old chained manuscripts existed.
Sir Thomas Bodley supported the further development of the library and saw many of Bodley’s own books, a massive collection indeed, donated to the building. It opened in 1602 under the name of Bodleian’s library. Harry Potter scenes, featuring the Hogwarts library were filmed in Duke Humphrey’s library.

Though consecrated in the 17th century, Trinity College Chapel in Oxford has celebrated over 600 years of religious history as it used to be part of the earlier Durham College.
Once I got off the train, I was astounded with the efficiency and history surrounding Oxford. The amount of students going about their business is really interesting and there are bicycles everywhere you look. Visit all my posts from England, Wales and Scotland

For those people who haven’t had the chance to peruse through Traveling with Krushworth, welcome! Today’s blog post is going to feature the Harry Potter film sites I saw on my journey throughout Great Britain.
As my trip started in Bath Spa, the first of many Harry Potter themed sights begin in the tiny medieval village of Lacock. Though there are many film locations, I did not specifically do a wizard themed tour and I’ll only be able to show images of the places I saw.
The above image is the wonderfully medieval village of Lacock. During the filming of the Half Blood Prince, the scene where Harry Potter and Dumbledore walk through the town on the way to Slughorn’s house was filmed down this roadway.
On what was my last full excursion in Great Britain, I took the train from King’s Cross station into Oxford to see the university town. I had no idea what there was to see and was certainly glad to find a map which told me at least some of the colleges to find.
Setting off, I found myself in one of the most beautiful and lively town centers I had seen on my trip so far. The amount of bicycles and students walking to and from classes was nothing but astonishing.
I started my tour with Trinity College, a 16th century marvel complete with a striking chapel as well as a great hall. Then I traveled to the Bodleian Library, where I was disappointed to have to lock my video camera in a box. No photography allowed in Duke Humfrey’s Library.
Many will remember the central room, the Divinity School, from the Harry Potter movies as it doubled for the Infirmary wing where Harry got his bones re-grown and spent many long nights. As well, the incredible 15th century library was used in the films.
Next, my weary feet steered me off into the direction of Christ Church College where I toured the sprawling grounds as well as the cathedral. Alas, I was stymied at my chance to see the fantastic Great Hall because Michelle Obama was doing a private speech.
I’ll have to visit the hall, which has become known as the Hogwarts Great Hall, on another trip to Great Britain. Outside, I was scammed out of 10 Euros by a lady who said she needed money to see a midwife. Plus, I missed Tolkien’s grave; Oxford fail.
