When traveling to Bath Spa, the tiny village of Lacock is a must see. The buildings date back to the 12th century, mere decades after the conquest of England by William the Conquerer. Much as Stonehenge is a mystical place, it has to be one of the busiest historical landmarks in Great Britain. While it can’t be missed, it’s enjoyable to take a step or two back and take a picture of the crowds photographing this Neolithic site.

When tiring of walking through the neolithic Avebury Henge, 16 times larger than Stonehenge and older as well, visit the quiet, yet majestic Avebury Church. Many of the stones in Avebury town were taken right from the Henge during medieval times, giving the town a strange, yet alluring flavour all on its own.

Beautiful Bath Abbey is one of the most peaceful and quiet cathedrals in England and was originally founded in the 7th century A.D. Just as there are many cathedrals packed to the rafters, Bath Abbey was quiet and gave me the opportunity of contemplate the history of the cloisters around me. Much as Avebury Stone Circle is 1,000 years older than Stonehenge and up to 16 times larger, the Neolithic site does not draw the same amoun of crowds as its more famous cousin and for that fact, is must see for any travelers.

Only one of the many statues overlooking the main square from his perch on the ancient facade of Bath Abbey. Bath Spa is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen. If you have a chance, please take the time to visit.
